What is the impact of this project?

CommunityWorks 945's programs improve participant's self-esteem, discipline, and ability to set and achieve goals, all while engaging in a thoughtful  community. This combination has led many of our homeless neighbors to obtain and keep a job, reconnect with family members, go back to school, and find housing. We are very proud of the success of our life skills based programming, but just as we challenge our participants to grow, we as well wish to grow and set new goals.  Our desire is to become a more effective gateway out of homelessness for our participants.

Where we are.

We wish to be an environment that harvests positive change for each individual who comes through our doors. We have found that change is possible when one's personal abilities and motivation are met with a positive social circle and structured environment. Presently, we offer the environment and community for change, but want to strengthen our program's strategies. Through the addition of job counseling, scholarships, and an intern, we believe that we can move towards ending homelessness.

Why it is necessary.

All of our homeless neighbor's situations and obstacles are different, therefore all of our programming must be multi-faceted if it is going to work for the diverse crowd we serve. Each new addition to our programs strengthens and adds a new angle to what we already offer.

What we would like to offer:

 -Supportive housing for participants

-Scholarships for CommunityWorks participants who want to go back to school

-A CommunityWorks intern who will be dedicated to investing in program participants.

Where we want to go.
